IRONMAY: A challenge with a cause
Having tragically lost her step father in late March Katy Wakefield, founder of Move, and her family have been dealing with their loss and adjusting to this in their own ways. One of which was to try and help others who may be also suffering as a result of this terrible disease.
“We found out too late for my step dad but it might not be the case for others and I felt compelled to do something” says Katy
She has taken on the Cancer Research IRONMAY challenge to complete the Ironman event over the period of the month of May:
26.2 miles Running - 112 miles Cycling - 2.4 miles Swimming
“I love running and swimming but am a novice on the bike. I am so grateful to our local community and to a lovely man who gave me his road bike he no longer used in order to do the challenge”
We know she can do it and are all right behind her. If you see her around running or cycling give her a wave or cheer!
There is absolutely no presure as times are hard enough right now but if you’d like to support in sponsoring, click the link below. This link will also keep you updated with Katy’s progress along with her posts on social media.
Good luck Katy!!
